Department Mission/Definition

The Education Division provides educational opportunities for members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Each program aims to promote the development of lifelong learners by offering educational opportunities for all ages.

Early Childhood Education

Provides all day and year round preschool education and services for children 3 or 4 years of age by September 1st of the enrollment year. It is our hope that we make a difference in the lives of children and families by being leaders in the implementation and modeling of a high quality, diverse, and creative Early Childhood Program.

Elementary Chinuk Language Program

The Elementary Chinuk Language Program provides Chinuk lessons to students in grades Kindergarten through 5th. We offer a ½ day Immersion Kindergarten/first grade classroom which follows all Oregon State Education Standards and also teaches our culture and place-based curriculum.

Higher Education

The Higher Education Programs provide a comprehensive offering of Educational services to Tribal members. These services include funding for full or part time college level courses, vocational training and personal enrichment opportunities. Our Academic Adviser can assist you in getting started and going in the right direction.

Library

The Grand Ronde Tribal Library provides material and services to support the personal, educational, cultural and professional needs of the community. The library supports learning and self-education for tribal and community members of all ages, from birth through elders.

Recreation Program

To provide a wide range of high quality wellness and recreational programs, activities and events to Tribal Members, Decedents, Natives, CTGR employees and the Grand Ronde Community that will enhance the quality of life and promote healthy lifestyles that benefit  all.

Youth Education

The Youth Education Program serves Grand Ronde Tribal members, members of other Native tribes, and Grand Ronde descendant youth attending grades K-12 with academic, cultural, recreational, and personal enrichment services. Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy learning environment that values young people and meets the diverse educational needs of all youth and families with a caring staff of well trained professionals that are supported by a broad base of resources. Through providing academic, leadership, and cultural opportunities we will help build Native youth into positive role models and leaders of our future.
