Leaders gathered to discuss priority environmental health issues.
On April 30 and May 1, 2012, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde hosted a meeting of tribal leaders as part of the EPA Region 10 Tribal Leaders' Summit. The meeting provided an opportunity for focused communication between tribal leaders and federal agency executives on priority environmental and human health issues. Leaders identified ways to move into a new level of partnership and to bring together traditional knowledge and western science. Leaders learned from each other, and identified opportunities to leverage resources. Graphic Recordings – large murals with summaries of conversations depicted through drawings and words – were created to document key issues and progress. Notes from the leaders’ session and copies of the graphic recordings are available in the Open Space Harvest Document.
Many thanks to all of those, both tribal and agency, who participated in the leaders’ sessions and the technical sessions!
Sincerely,
Brandy Humphreys
