- Tribal Encampment
There will be a Tribal Encampment at the Elks Picnic Grounds in Eagle Point, Ore. The site is reserved for Tribal members on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8. Tribal members are invited to bring your drums, songs, Tribal craft projects and share your culture with fellow Tribal members. There will be potluck dinners on both nights. Camping is allowed at the site and there are tent sites and some RV sites, but no waste water dump. There are portable toilets and no dogs are allowed. Tribal members…

- Elder-Youth Tournaments
Elder-Youth tournaments in horseshoes, ladder golf, pool and bingo will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at the Elders’ Activity Center.
There will be a first, second and third awarded for every event, including bingo. Youth need to be in sixth through 12 grades to participate.
Sign-up sheets are located in the Elders’ Activity Center and Youth Education building.

- End of Summer Community BBQ Bash
The Tribe’s Youth Prevention Program will hold its third annual End of the Summer Community BBQ Bash starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the fire pit in Tilixam Circle in Tribal housing.
Ribs, hamburgers with all the fixings, potato salad, watermelon, water and juices will be served. Attendees can bring their favorite dessert to share. Door prizes will be given out.

The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meets at 5pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

A Back-to-School Children InterTribal Powwow will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the Tribal gym.
People are invited to participate in a night of dancing, singing and drumming.

- Cultural Area cleanup day
The Tribe’s Cultural Trust Board is sponsoring Cultural Area cleanup days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 and 29.
The Trust Board will provide lunch and refreshments to those who help.
Some of the work that needs to be done includes rebuilding the sweat lodge, putting up a clothes line to dry the blankets when people are finished with sweats, repairing the wood storage shed, chopping wood for winter storage, clearing overgrown blackberries and Scotch broom, and more.

- Chinuk Family Literacy Night(2)
A Chinuk Family Literacy Night will be held from 5:15 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Tribal gym.
Everyone is welcome to attend a night of Chinuk family literacy that will include food and activities. Each attending family will receive a translated book to take home. Dinner will be provided.

- Elders' Fishing Trip(2)
The Fish & Wildlife Committee is inviting Tribal Elders to participate in an Elders’ Fishing Trip from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Henry Haag Lake near Forest Grove.
The trip will occur rain or shine. Transportation, fishing gear and a meal will be provided. Vans will leave the Elders’ Activity Center in Grand Ronde at 7 and 10 a.m. sharp and return by 5 p.m.
Lunch will include burgers, hot dogs and a picnic-style luncheon.

The Tribe’s Education staff will hold a barbecue while learning more about educational services offered at an Education Division Open House at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Youth Education Covered Area.
There also will be a raffle drawing and book giveaway in the Tribal Library.
