During Cultural Responsive Teaching Practices, Mandy Smoker-Broaddus will talk about culturally responsive teaching practices from the Native perspective.  She will offer ideas and information on bringing the Native culture into the classroom and partnering with Tribal communities to support students.

Mandy Smoker Broaddus

Mandy is currently the Native Education Practice Expert with Education Northwest. She is from Wolf Point, Montana and currently lives in Helena, Montana. Mandy is associated with the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux tribes. She worked at a tribal college, in K-12 education and state education levels and was Director of Indian Education in Montana for 10 years. Mandy has a nine-year-old son who loves to play many different sports. She also plays tennis and loves to travel.
