Chinuk Wawa Education Program

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde’s Chinuk Wawa Immersion Education Program has been created to ensure that our children and community restore a part of the tribe’s heritage that was almost lost, our common language. We believe that the values and life-ways of our elders are alive in the Chinuk Wawa language. It is their voice that we are responding to, and it is their words and voices that we hear when our children speak the same words. If our language is alive in our children and community, we will all share a common value that is deeply rooted in our traditions and heritage. Our pride and strength will be reflected in our ability to speak Chinuk Wawa.
