Cultural Lifeways

Culture as Heath is a project uses collaboration across Tribal programs and the community to develop and implement curriculum based on the Tribal seasonal round of cultural lifeways.  The seasonal round curriculum creates monthly opportunities to learn about first foods and food processing, while grounding itself in Grand Ronde tribal values and traditional knowledge. During the pandemic many of these have been done virtually, and it has resulted in a number of Youtube videos that offer useful information on the Grand Ronde culture.

Cristina Lara

Cristina Lara has been working for the Grand Ronde community for 18 years. Before working in Cultural Education she worked in Youth Prevention, using cultural teachings to build and strengthen relationships with youth and families needing resources.
